The Jupiter Warriors secured the district 9-8A top seed with a 3-2 victory at Palm Beach Central. Starting pitcher Mack Lemieux earned the win with a dominant complete game performance. The junior lefty scattered 5 hits and recorded 4 K’s versus the potent Bronco line-up. Central ace Shane Sawczak kept the Broncos close allowing just 3 Warrior hits. The Warriors took the early lead with 2 runs in the 4th without recording a hit. Senior’s Kevin Fry and Logan Heiser drew back to back walks and both scored after 2 wild pitches and a passed ball. The Broncos tied the score in the 5th with a 2 RBI single by Sawczak. The Warriors answered and took the lead for good in the top of the 6th. Junior Cody Wilson singled and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Chase Bishop. Senior Logan Heiser delivered the decisive blow with a 2 out double that scored Wilson for the game winner. With the victory, the 12-11 Warriors will have a first round bye in the upcoming district playoffs that begin April 21.
