The Jupiter Warriors suffered a 2-1 loss to district 9-8A rival Wellington on a cold night in Jupiter. Starting pitcher Mack Lemieux tossed 6 solid innings for the 5-5 Warriors. The junior lefty pitched very well but suffered his first loss of the season. Senior Devin Nelson pitched a scoreless 7th inning for Jupiter. The Warriors jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 3rd inning when senior Kevin Fry singled home his brother Lance Fry after a 1 out double. Wellington took the lead in the top of the 6th on a 2 run homerun by Phil Seili that proved to be the decisive blow in a very well played game. Starting pitcher Lemieux helped his cause with 2 hits for the Warriors. Kevin Fry went 2-3 with an RBI single and brother Lance singled, doubled and scored the lone Jupiter run. The Warriors are now 2-1 in district play and will face long time rival Palm Beach Central on Tuesday March 11 in another key district game.
